(Freelance) trainer
We are currently looking for a (freelance) trainer to give trainings in data visualization and infographics design for Baryon.
In our high-quality trainings, ranging between 2 hours and 3 full days, we help researchers and communication professionals at universities, government agencies, private companies and non-profit organizations to turn complex data into powerful visuals.
You should be:
- Interested in (learning about) data, charts and maps, and open to continuously learn about new possibilities in data visualization.
- A strong communicator that loves to work with small to medium (8-16) groups of people.
Ideally you have a few years of experience in teaching university students or professional audiences, with a passion for data or information design.
You should be fluent in English. A good knowledge of Dutch is an asset.

What will you be doing?
As a trainer, you will represent Baryon by giving our high-quality trainings to a range of audiences in academia, government, non-profit, and private companies.
To do this, you will have the full support of the company’s founder and the rest of the team. You will be coached and trained in data visualization skills, and will be joining Koen to several workshops before giving them independently.
What can we offer you?
The demand for data visualization trainings is high, so we can offer you lots of challenging opportunities for learning and growing.
You will join a team of motivated people living at the crossroads of analytical, creative and communication skills. We like happy, spontaneous, ambitious people who are not afraid to speak their mind or to go out of their comfort zone.
We can offer you a part-time employment, or you can work on a freelance basis for a very competitive fee per training. Baryon is based in Gentbrugge, but most of our trainings are in the major cities of Flanders. We’re also happy to provide you with all the trainings, subscriptions or books you might need to expand your expertise.
One more thing...
Don’t meet every single requirement? Studies have shown that women and people of color are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification. At Baryon we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace, so if you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
We will do everything we can to fight discrimination based on age, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, ethnicity, disability, religion, or political preference.
